Kentucky participates in National Drug Take Back Day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentuckians have a chance to help save a life this weekend.

Saturday Oct. 24, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day across the nation and locations across Kentucky will be open to accept and dispose of medication.

The Lexington Police Department will be accepting unwanted and expired medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kentucky American Water, which is located at 2300 Richmond Road.

Accepted items are: prescription and over-the-counter pills, vitamins, medicated ointments and lotions, and pet medication.
